Quotes

“Baron suggests that writing was never not technological, that every writing technology has taken time to become established, and that writing technologies must be learned.”

“The computer, the latest development in writing technology, promises, or threatens, to change literacy practices for better or worse, depending on your point of view.”

“I found that I had become so used to composing virtual prose at the keyboard I could no longer draft anything coherent directly onto a piece of paper.”

“The pencil may seem a simple device in contrast to the computer, but although it has fewer parts, it too is an advanced form of technology.”

“In the digital age, we are faced with the interesting task of reinventing appropriate ways to validate cyber text.”

Importance of Quotes
I found this quote to be important because Barons saying that even a pen is technology, which is hard to believe because what is a pen, just some ink and plastic.

I found this quote interesting because he states the computer as the latest development and at that time people had no idea how much the computer would change our lives.

I picked this quote out because I can relate to it so much there have been times where I’ve gone to start writing a paper on an actual piece of paper and I cant do it because it doesn’t feel natural not being on a computer.

I chose this quote because he says the pencil is an advanced form of writing technology which I believe is correct because if someone can sit down and write a book with just pencil like they did back in they day then that person has to truly be a writing artist and to them the pencil was there most advanced writing technology.

I found this quote to be important because its so true because now in days with the internet pretty much anybody can post whatever they want for the whole world to see even if their ideas on the topic could be completely off.
