"Ways of
Seeing"
Before you read
After looking up two
famous people I noticed that the male figure was depicted as being a strong
almost rugged individual possibly to make him look like the prototypical male
role model figure that our society demands he looks like. While the female
figure was dressed in white clothing and is in almost a sexy pose. Witch is counter depicting because the white
or light clothing is a sign of purity but she’s in a sexy pose witch is a
complete counter diction.
QDJ
2. yes the artist knew what they were doing because
artist don’t just create something without there being a meaning behind it and
often there messages are hidden within there work. I think Berger would agree
with me because he’s trying to say the same thing basically but in a different
context.
4. I think the audience is the people that are trying to go
against Berger’s point of view. Because he states facts of actually what’s
going on in the paints trying to get other people to understand what the artist
is trying to say.
5. The other affects our desires epically in men
by drawing us to it with provoking images of females in a certain way to get
men to pay attention to whatever the artist created. A different perspective
can make all the difference in what the image mean or what the artist wants it
to mean.
AEI
1.
Apiece of artwork that depicts men in that way
could be the statue of ‘David’ with him being completely nude it caused great
controversy when it was first erected.
The time gap between the state and some of the paintings is actually
quite large some a couple hundred years. I think the time gap could be a factor
in how it was viewed. because that large of a gap could mean that different
generations view the art in a very different way.
Meta moment
These concepts discussed could connect with writing in that
how you present your writing could be analyzed in more then one way for sure. It
also brings up the point that you have to be careful on how you present your
writing so that not to offended to many people because you have no idea how
there going to interpret your work.
