Summary

In Peter Elbows article ‘Voice in writing again: Embracing Contraries’ elbow attempts to tell us about voice in different writing styles. Elbow argues that voice is not being talked about in writing anymore when it should be talked about the most. Because in his opinion it’s the best way to draw a reader in and keep them engaged.

Synthesize 

Overall I feel like this article is just like the rest we have read in class. The article gives the reader a brief story introducing the construct and what it’s all about. Then the articles goes into the meat of the construct telling us how to use it effectively and why its effective in writing papers.

  

Getting Ready to read

1.   I personally don’t use face book that much anymore but I feel like I set up my profile to actually who I am because if your not honest with yourself then your not being honest to anyone else and that just makes you basically a phony.

1.   Voce is how you intend the reader of your work to interpret what your trying to say. I think there are different kinds of voice such as if you want the person to feel sad when there reading then put depressive things in it, and if you want someone to feel happy then put happy things in your paper to evoke the readers senses.

2.     I don’t agree with his statement I feel that you cant ignore the issue of voice when teaching how to wright. Because if you ignore voice a paper could be boring to read and just drag on forever.

AEI 

1.    Sincerity- How confident you are in your writing with your info.

Resonance- is Having a lasting presence or effect.

And I struggled a little witch means I could have some trouble with including it in my paper witch could never be a good thing.

Connecting to Other Readings

2.     I personally don’t think that voice is mythical thing in writing. I think its just how people interpret what voice your actually using. I also think that its important to have it in writing so its not so dull when reading any type of work.

My thoughts

Overall I thought Elbows article was a very helpful tool in figuring out what voice really is and how to apply it to writing. I think if more people used good voice in their writing then reading there writings would be a lot more fun because it would make it a lot less dull.
